Vol. 370 No. 14

Written Answers. - Soundproofing at McKee Barracks.

60.

asked the Minister for Defence the steps which are being taken to soundproof the open firing range at McKee Barracks, Dublin 7, or to relocate the range to end the intolerable noise which is affecting residents in the area.

61.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will consider sound-proofing the firing range at McKee Barracks, Dublin 7, so as to reduce the noise level, in view of the persistent complaints by local residents about this matter.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 60 and 61 together.

Firing practice at McKee Barracks range is essential for military training purposes. It would not be feasible to relocate the range. However, I am having the possibility of reducing the noise level examined.
