Vol. 370 No. 15

Written Answers. - School Extensions.

171.

(Limerick West) asked the Minister for Education when sanction of a tender will be approved for the construction of four extra classrooms in Ballybrown primary school, County Limerick.

Tenders for the proposed extension to Ballybrown national school, County Limerick have I understand been received by the chairman's architects, whose report to my Department is awaited. Assuming that this report is satisfactory, the question of authorising the placing of a contract would arise for consideration in the context of my Department's 1987 allocation for national school building.

172.

asked the Minister for Education the present position regarding the extension to the vocational educational school in Castleblayney, County Monaghan; the reason for the delay; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Architectural planning of the proposed extension to this school is proposed. Developed sketch scheme proposals submitted by the County Monaghan VEC are undergoing technical examination.

It is not possible to say when work will be commenced. There has been no avoidable delay on my Department's part in dealing with this project.
