Vol. 370 No. 15

Written Answers. - Thorndale House, Beaumont, Dublin.

22.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if his Department has now decided to dispose of Thorndale House, Beaumont, Dublin, it being surplus property; if he has agreed that this property should be given to St. Paul's special school to enable it to develop urgently needed adult workshop facilities for the many handicapped people who have finished schooling at St. Paul's and have no appropriate placement; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Arrangements for the sale of some of the Thorndale House property to the Eastern Health Board for an appropriate sum as determined by the Valuation Office, are well advanced and it is hoped that final details can be settled shortly. It is understood that the board will make the property available for use for the provision of training, educational, etc. facilities for handicapped persons including past pupils of St. Paul's special school.
