Vol. 370 No. 15

Written Answers. - Anglo-Irish Agreement Funding.

42.

asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs whether any funding in support of the Anglo-Irish Agreement is to be made available by the member states of the EC; if so, the amount; when is it to be paid; and if he will make a statement in this respect.

Discussions are still continuing on how best to bring about financial aid from the European Community in support of the objectives of the Anglo-Irish Agreement. It would be a matter for the Commission to make, at the appropriate time, and for the Council to agree to, a proposal regarding any such aid. The Government are actively pursuing the matter.
