Vol. 370 No. 15

Written Answers. - Town Commission Status for Leixlip.

79.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will consider granting town commission status to Leixlip, County Kildare; the procedures to be followed and the likely time lapse before a decision is taken; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

There is no application before me for the granting of Town Commission status to Leixlip. If such an application is submitted, I will, of course, consider it.

The procedures for establishing Town Commissioners is set out in sections 4 to 21 of the Towns Improvement (Ireland) Act, 1854.
