The detailed planning of the proposed new geriatric unit at St. Joseph's Hospital, Dungarvan, has been completed and the South Eastern Health Board have made an application to my Department for approval to invite tenders for the work. The board's application is currently being considered in the context of the capital funding implications of the project and I cannot say at this stage when it will be possible to give sanction for the invitation of the tenders.
