Vol. 371 No. 2

Written Answers. - Enniscorthy (Wexford) School.

195.

asked the Minister for Education if she is aware of the transport difficulties that will arise for a number of students (details supplied) in County Wexford due to the construction of a new vocational school in Enniscorthy; and if she will approve of the proposals submitted to the Department of Education by the County Wexford Vocational Educational Committee.

The standard of service which is available to the pupils of the new Vocational School in Enniscorthy is considered adequate in the context of the general operation of the post-primary school transport scheme.

However, as the Deputy is already aware, my Department would be prepared to consider relocating the central boarding and set-down point so that it would be generally equidistant between the post-primary schools. This would be subject to the agreement of the schools concerned in consultation with the transport liaison officer and CIE.
