Vol. 371 No. 2

Written Answers. - Income Tax Refund.

25.

asked the Minister for Finance when a tax rebate will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Louth.

The Revenue Commissioners have advised me that the taxpayer sent a return of income for 1986-87 to the Inspector of Taxes on 23 February 1987 and a letter without supporting evidence claiming relief in respect of loan interest paid since 1 January 1975. A return of income has not been received from the taxpayer for any of the years from 1975-76 to 1985-86. The inspector will now communicate with the taxpayer seeking the information necessary to enable reviews of liability and other adjustments to be made for all years from 1975-76 up to and including the current year.
