asked the Minister for Education the present position regarding the proposed extension at Meanscoil Iognaid Ris, Naas, County Kildare; the exact nature of the extension and facilities; if it is proposed to proceed with the work in the near future; and the number of stages of the project still outstanding before proceeding to contract.

(1) The present position is that my Department awaits the submission of stage 2 (outline sketch scheme) for the project from the school authorities.

(2) The area of the proposed extension is 1170 m². It is to include the following facilities:—

1 General Classroom

1 Geography Room

1 Science Laboratory/Prep Resource area

1 Woodwork/Building Construction Room

1 Social Studies Room

1 Mechanical Drawing Room

P.E. Hall/P.E. Ancillary Changing etc.

Ancillary Accommodation

(3) It is not possible to say, at this stage, when construction will begin.

(4) The following are the stages of planning to be completed before construction can commence:—

Stage 2 Outline Sketch Scheme

3 Developed Sketch Scheme

4 Working Drawings

5 Bills of Quantities

6 Tender Action and Report.
