The following table sets out, for each of the last four years, the numbers of persons arrested under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939, and the numbers of persons arrested under that section who were subsequently charged with an offence.
The numbers of persons who were convicted of the charges are not readily available from Garda records and would have to be compiled specially, at the cost of a disproportionate amount of scarce Garda resources.
