Vol. 371 No. 5

Written Answers. - Arterial Drainage.

42.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the policy decisions he has made regarding arterial drainage following the interdepartmental report which was presented to the Government more than a year ago.

Following consideration of the review prepared by the Office of Public Works the Government decided in December 1986 on a major reorganisation of arterial drainage activities with a view to achieving a better balance between costs and benefits. Under the reorganisation, responsibility for arterial drainage was transferred to my Department. Detailed arrangements arising from the transfer are at present being worked out.
