Vol. 371 No. 9

Written Answers. - Electricity Prices.

16.

asked the Minister for Energy if he will ensure that there is no increase in the price of electricity as a result of the Government's directive to the Electricity Supply Board to pay the amount due by them in lieu of rates.

The payment by the ESB to the Minister for the Environment of the amount due in lieu of rates in respect of 1986 will not cause an increase in electricity prices. The full payment due in 1986 had been allowed for in the most recent review of electricity price levels which was concluded last December.
