asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

Payment of a grant will be further considered on receipt of additional information sought from the applicant.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a house improvement grant application of a person (details supplied) in County Wexford was not approved under the previous scheme in view of the fact that a pre-approval inspection was carried out.

If the Deputy supplies a copy of the letter referred to by him I will arrange to have the matter examined.

There has been no undue delay in this case. A £2,000 new house grant will be paid if and when an inspection establishes that the house has been satisfactorily completed and occupied and that all the conditions of the grant scheme have been fulfilled. Approval to the £2,250 new house grant will issue if the applicant satisfies me that he had entered into a legally binding and irrevocable commitment on or before 27 March 1987.

The window grant application has been cancelled in this case. Apart from that, grants of £2,000 and £267 were approved for the provision of an extension and for works to the water supply respectively. Arrangements to pay the extension grant are being made and the applicant should notify the Department on completion of the other work.

Two applications were received from the person named in respect of different houses. One application was cancelled at first inspection stage as the property had been disposed of and grants totalling £6,362 were recently approved in respect of the second application.
