Vol. 372 No. 2

Written Answers. - Western Health Board Allocation.

120.

asked the Minister for Health the allocations made to the Western Health Board for each year since 1984; the proposed allocation for 1987; the percentage reduction this represents; if he has satisfied himself that a full range of services can be provided by the board consequent on such allocation; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The original allocations to the Western Health Board for each of the years in question are as follows: 1984, £93.700 million; 1985, £97.860 million; 1986, £102.780 million; 1987, £107.620 million.

The board has been requested to furnish their budget within the 1987 allocation but have not yet done so. Officers from my Department will be available to discuss this budget immediately it is to hand.
