Vol. 372 No. 4

Written Answers. - Payment of Fees.

198.

asked the Minister for Health the amount of fees outstanding and unpaid by his Department and each semi-State body, local authority or health board under the aegis of his Department to architects, quantity surveyors, consulting engineers at 30 April 1987, giving a breakdown showing the length of time for which the various fees are outstanding and unpaid; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The payment of fees to architects, quantity surveyors and consulting engineers engaged on health projects is primarily a matter for the relevant health boards and voluntary hospitals who are the employers of these consultants. My Department recoups to the health agencies concerned the fees payable by them to the consultants. The type of information requested by the Deputy is not available on a routine basis in the Department.
