Written Answers. - Payment of Fees.

asked the Taoiseach the amount of fees outstanding and unpaid by his Department and each semi-State body, local authority or health board under the aegis of his Department, to architects, quantity surveyors and consulting engineers at 30 April 1987, giving a breakdown showing the length of time for which the various fees are outstanding and unpaid; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The fees outstanding and unpaid by my Department and each semi-State body, local authority or health board attached to it, to architects, quantity surveyors, consulting engineers at 30 April, 1987 are as follows:

(i) The Central Statistics Office: An amount of £777.44 inclusive of VAT has been invoiced by consulting engineers for work connected with the installation of a new telephone system. Payment will be made as soon as contract procedures are completed.

(ii) An Chomhairle Ealaíon (The Arts Council): An amount for approximately £3,500 is due to be paid to two firms of architects. The fees are in respect of work carried out in 1985 and 1986. No invoices have been received to date from the firms involved.
