Vol. 372 No. 4

Written Answers. - Tax Rebate.

34.

asked the Minister for Finance when a tax rebate will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick whose claim is being dealt with by the Limerick Tax Office; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the inspector of taxes has not yet received an application for a repayment of tax for 1986-87 from the taxpayer. The question of the taxpayer's entitlement to a refund of tax for 1986-87 now falls to be determined by way of a review of his liability for that year. The inspector has recently requested from the taxpayer's agents the information necessary to carry out the review. On receipt of the required information the review will be carried out and any refund found to be due will be made.
