Vol. 372 No. 10

Written Answers. - Timber Imports From Northern Ireland.

41.

asked the Taoiseach the volume of timber imports from Northern Ireland to this country in 1986.

Imports of timber from Northern Ireland amounted to 6,596 tonnes in the year 1986. In general it should be noted that commodity detail from external trade statistics does not include: (a) transactions (non-dutiable) of less than £100 each; (b) trade by firms operating in Shannon Free Airport; and (c) postal packages not covered by customs entries.
