Vol. 372 No. 10

Written Answers. - Tax Clearance Certificate.

46.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will arrange with the Revenue Commissioners to grant an extension of time up to 30 June, 1987 to enable a person (details supplied) in County Kerry to procure a tax clearance certificate in support of his school transport contract with CIE for and on behalf of the Department of Education.

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners, who are responsible for dealing with applications for tax clearance certificates, that the person concerned has accumulated substantial arrears of income tax and that they could not issue a tax clearance certificate to him while these arrears remain unpaid.
