Vol. 372 No. 10

Written Answers. - Decentralisation of Department.

66.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he intends to decentralise all or part of the Department of Agriculture and Food; if, in view of the fact that so much of Ireland's milk is produced in Munster, he will now take an initiative to move An Bord Bainne out of Dublin and locate it in a place more suitable, like Moorpark, County Cork; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The recent Government decision to decentralise civil servants to a number of provincial centres includes the transfer of 150 staff of my Department to Cavan. No further decentralisation is contemplated.

The location of the headquarters of An Bord Bainne which is a commercial body is a matter for the organisation itself.
