Vol. 372 No. 10

Written Answers. - Kilmackillogue (Kerry) Ship Wrecks.

95.

asked the Minister for the Marine the present position regarding the removal of the ship wrecks which are causing obstruction in Kilmackillogue Harbour in Tousist near Kenmare in County Kerry; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

There were originally four wrecks at Kilmackillogue, County Kerry. I understand from the locally based receiver of wrecks that three of these have now been removed having been salvaged and sold for scrap. The vessels were never considered an obstruction or danger to navigation. The removal of wrecks of this kind is primarily a matter for the owners.
