Written Answers. - Grant Mortgage Subsidy Payments.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a mortgage subsidy will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork as in his last reply to Deputy Bernard Allen it was stated that documentation had not been received but this documentation was sent to his Department on 13 April 1987 by registered post; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The first instalment of the mortgage subsidy will be paid within the next few weeks.

A decision in the matter will be conveyed to the applicant on receipt of a report, already requested, from the Department's inspector.

There has been no undue delay. The final inspection will be carried out as soon as possible.

asked the Minister for the Environment whether a house improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in county Kildare; if he qualifies for pre-1940 grant; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

There is no record of the receipt of an application for a house improvement grant from the person named at the address given. However, there is an application from a person with the same name for a broadly similar address. In that case grants totalling £6,200 have been approved including a maximum grant of £5,000 for repairs to a pre-1940 dwelling.

asked the Minister for the Environment when an approval certificate for the new house grant application of persons (details supplied) in County Wexford will be issued; and if he will expedite same.

An incomplete application was received on 17 February, 1987 and all the necessary information was not received until 25 March 1987. Accordingly, as an inspection had not been carried out on or before March 27 1987 a grant cannot be allowed.
