Vol. 372 No. 11

Written Answers. - National Lottery.

111.

asked the Minister for Education the amount of moneys being allocated from the national lottery to the various sporting organisations in Cork city and county; if she will disburse these funds in the same way as announced by the previous Government; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

The Government have decided that an allocation of £3,150,000 should be made from the proceeds of the national lottery to youth and sports projects.

I am not yet in a position to allocate grants to sporting organisations at national level from the national lottery proceeds until my Department have completed its assessment of all the applications.

The allocations to the City of Cork and County Cork Vocational Education Committees for the payment of grants to local sports clubs are being considered at present and I hope to be in a position to announce these allocations shortly.
