Vol. 372 No. 11

Written Answers. - St. John the Baptist (Dublin) School.

116.

asked the Minister for Education if she will make a statement in relation to the proposed building project at St. John the Baptist junior and senior national school, Clontarf, Dublin 3; and when building is expected to commence.

St. John the Baptist junior and senior national schools, Clontarf, Dublin 3, have 26 class groups accommodated in 17 permanent classrooms and nine prefabricated classrooms. A revised outline sketch scheme for the provision of an extension to, and the improvement of, the permanent accommodation is currently under consideration in my Department. It will not be possible to advance this project significantly in the immediate future because of my Department's capital commitments in respect of contracts recently authorised, and the large number of other projects for which tenders have been received or which are at an advanced stage of planning. My Department's primary buildings branch will keep in touch with the school authorities regarding the further processing of their proposals.
