The proposal to establish a new Fair Trade Commission was originally included in the Restrictive Practices (Amendment) Bill, 1986, which lapsed with the last Dáil. I have recently been examining this Bill with a view to its possible restoration to the Dáil Order Paper and I will be making proposals to the Government on the matter in the near future.
