Vol. 373 No. 2

Written Answers. - Blanchardstown (Dublin) Hospital.

273.

asked the Minister for Health if he will give an assurance that there are no plans for a total close down of the James Cónnolly Memorial Hospital, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15; if he will outline the future of the hospital as he sees it including the range of services, the number of beds and the number of staff at the hospital over the next 20 years; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have no plans for the total close down of James Connolly Memorial Hospital, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15. With regard to the range of services, the number of beds and the number of staff at the hospital over the next 20 years the Deputy will recall that in reply to the Adjournment debate raised in the House on Baggot Street Hospital on the 21 May 1987 it was stated that until such time as I have received the report of the review of acute hospital services which I announced on the 19th May, 1987 I do not intend to discuss the role of individual hospital.
