Vol. 373 No. 2

Written Answers. - Rate Support Grants.

26.

asked the Minister for the Environment the rate support grant made available for the year 1987 by the Government for the areas governed by Dún Laoghaire Corporation and Dublin Corporation; and the reason for any differences in treatment with reference to the amount of grant payable as between each of the above mentioned local authorities.

The total rate support grants payable to Dublin Corporation and Dún Laoghaire Corporation for 1987 amount to £32.408 million and £4.143 million respectively.

When account is taken of the internal resources which councils have been authorised to use, the 1987 rate support grant allocations for all urban authorities are down by about 4.5 per cent on their 1986 allocations. This percentage decrease also applies in relation to the Dublin and Dún Laoghaire Corporations.
