Vol. 373 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ballinagard (County Roscommon) Sewerage Scheme.

6.

asked the Minister for the Environment when grant-aid moneys will be made available to the Ballinagard sewerage scheme, County Roscommon, and when the scheme is likely to be completed.

The laying of a foul sewer and parallel rising main which form part of the Ballinagard sewerage scheme has been approved to be carried out in conjunction with work on stage 2 of the Roscommon town sewerage scheme which is at present in progress. Detailed drawings and cost estimates for the balance of the scheme which have recently been received by my Department are under technical examination at present.

Until this examination is complete I cannot say when I will be in a position to give consideration to the approval of this section of the scheme. Such consideration must have regard to the existing level of financial commitments and other high priority schemes which are competing for the limited loan capital funds available.
