High level production of peas in Europe in 1986 gave rise to considerably reduced prices, particularly in Britain, with consequent pressure on the market. The question of taking protective measures against imports from Third countries is primarily a matter for the EC. There is no evidence available of dumping of peas from Third countries which would support a case to the EC Commission for possible protective measures.
