Vol. 373 No. 10

Written Answers. - Medical Card Application.

79.

asked the Minister for Health if he will review the application of an orphan child of five years of age (details supplied) in Dublin 1 who was refused a medical card; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Eligibility for a medical card is determined solely by the chief executive officer of a health board. Accordingly, in this instance, the Deputy's question has been referred to the chief executive officer, Eastern Health Board, with a request that he examine the matter and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
