asked the Minister for Tourism and Transport the buildings and sites in the ownership of his Department; the locations of same; if they are at present in use by his Department; if not, the use which is proposed for them; when it is envisaged to utilise the site or building; the proposals, if any, there are to dispose of the buildings or sites; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The lands or buildings in the ownership of my Department are:

(i) all the land at the three State airports at Dublin, Shannon and Cork and all of the buildings thereon with a few exceptions;

(ii) The Aviation Radio Station at Bally-girreen, Co. Clare;

(iii) the transmitting station at Urlanmore, Co. Clare;

(iv) the Secondary Surveillance Radar facilities at Woodcock Hill, Co. Clare, and Mount Gabriel, Co. Cork;

(v) the Coast Radio Stations at Malin Head, Co. Donegal, and Valentia Island, Co. Kerry;

(vi) the Meteorological Observatory at Cahir-civeen, Co. Kerry;

(vii) the VHF Stations located at Knockgour, Co. Cork, Kilkeaveragh on Valentia Island, Crockalough, Co. Donegal, Ballybunion, Co. Kerry, and Kilkee, Co. Clare.

All of the foregoing lands or buildings are currently in official use and there are no plans to dispose of any of them.

My Department provide navigational aids, including radio beacons etc. on minute plots of ground held under licence arrangements at various points in the vicinity of the State airports and at certain other points throughout the country.
