Vol. 374 No. 10

Written Answers. - Attacks on Irish Trucks.

29.

asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if he has protested to his French counterpart at the increasing and continuing number of attacks on Irish trucks in France; if so, the assurances he has received that these attacks will not continue; if he will ensure that adequate compensation is paid in all such cases, where damage and injuries are inflicted; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am not aware that there is an increasing and continuing number of attacks on Irish trucks in France, as implied in the Deputy's question. No complaints in relation to such attacks have been received in recent months either by the Embassy in Paris, my Department in Dublin or the Department of Agriculture. If the Deputy possesses such information perhaps he would communicate this to me and I will have the matter investigated by the Embassy.
