asked the Minister for the Environment if a person (details supplied) in County Offaly is entitled to a new house grant; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The receipt of additional information requested from the applicant is awaited.

asked the Minister for the Environment if persons (detail supplied) in County Offaly are entitled to a tenant purchaser grant of £5,000 which was approved in respect of the proposed purchase of a dwelling house which is not now going ahead, but to which approval the persons concerned wish to avail of in respect of a dwelling house they are proposing to build; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Where the purchase or construction of a house in respect of which provisional approval had issued under the £5,000 surrender grant scheme is not being proceeded with, an application for the grant in respect of a different house can be considered only where the applicants satisfy the relevant local authority that, at the time of abolition of the scheme, they had, on foot of a legitimate expectation of receiving the grant, entered into a legally binding and irrevocable commitment in respect of the second house.

asked the Minister for the Environment the approximate date on which payment of a new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Laois will be made.

There is no record of the receipt of an application for a new house grant from the person named at the address given.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in payment of a house improvement grant to a person (details supplied) in County Louth; and when payment will now be made.
