Vol. 375 No. 4

Written Answers. - Local Authority Loans.

151.

asked the Minister for the Environment if the rules regarding income and maximum income which are currently applicable to applicants for local authority housing loans have been changed in any way by his recent directive referring some of these applicants to banks and building societies; and if the same rules will be applied by the banks and building societies to which those applicants have been referred.

The income and loan limits for local authority housing loans remain unchanged.

Building societies and banks will apply their normal criteria in assessing applicants for loans but they will not require applicants to have had a prior deposit with the institution.
