asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in payment of a £2,000 new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Louth.

As the house was commenced after 30 September 1986, a new house grant is not payable because a contractor registered for VAT was not involved in the construction of the house.

asked the Minister for the Environment the present position regarding the new house grant application of a person (details supplied) in County Longford.

An inspection was carried out recently and on receipt of the inspector's report, the applicant will be advised of the outcome.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in payment of a pre-1940 £5,000 grant to a person (details supplied) in County Louth.

There has been no undue delay; an inspection with a view to payment of a grant will be carried out as soon as possible.

165.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in payment of the £600 third mortgage instalment to a person (details supplied) in County Louth.

The third instalment of the mortgage subsidy will be paid as soon as possible.
