asked the Minister for Finance in respect of (i) each health board and (ii) other parts of the health service the estimated cost in 1988, of the October, 1987 draft agreement on pay in the public service.
I propose to take Questions Nos. 70 and 71 together.
The application of the increases provided for in the Draft Agreement on Pay in the Public Service will add an estimated £70 million to the Exchequer pay and pensions bill in 1988. A detailed breakdown by body/area of the additional cost is not currently available.
I hope to be in a position early in the New Year to supply the Deputy with the information he has requested.
