asked the Minister for Social Welfare the entitlements of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 5 who is in receipt of invalidity pension; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The person concerned has been in receipt of invalidity pension since 31 October 1985 and is at present in receipt of the maximum rate of pension payable to a married man under 66 years of age with no qualified child dependants. Invalidity pensioners are entitled to a free travel pass. Some such pensioners are also entitled to a free electricity allowance, free (black and white) television licence and free telephone rental allowance.

An information leaflet listing the entitlements of invalidity pensioners has been sent to the person concerned.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare when a child benefit book will be made available to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

The application for child benefit from the person concerned in respect of her second child, who was born in October 1987, has been approved. The appropriate benefit order book, payable from November 1987, is being issued this week and the claimant will be informed when this can be collected from her Post Office of payment.
