Vol. 375 No. 8

Written Answers. - Payment of Mortgage Subsidy.

33.

asked the Minister for the Environment if it is the case that there are delays of up to three and a half months in the payment of mortgage subsidy instalments due to house owners; if the delay is nine to ten weeks from the time that all paperwork in respect of applications is complete; and if so, the reason.

I am not aware of any such delays in the payment of mortgage subsidy instalments. However, given the volume of grant and mortgage subsidy payments being made — for example, over 7,000 payments were made in October — it is inevitable that some delays beyond the normal will from time to time arise in individual cases. If the Deputy has any particular cases in mind I will arrange to look into the position.
