Vol. 375 No. 8

Written Answers. - Leixlip Town Commission.

35.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he supports the establishment of a town commission for Leixlip, County Kildare; and, in view of the application for the establishment of a town commission in Leixlip if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have already informed representatives of the Combined Residents' Association of Leixlip that I accept, in principle, the case for granting town commission status to Leixlip, subject to appropriate boundaries being agreed. My Department recently wrote to the residents' association about the later aspect, and arising from this I expect that a revised application will be submitted to me. On receipt of this I will give a formal decision without delay.
