asked the Minister for Health if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the local community in Tubbercurry, County Sligo, have purchased over three years ago a site to be made available for a welfare home and health centre to cater for the particularly acute needs in the area; and if he will make the necessary funds available to the North Western Health Board or any other channel to enable this very desirable project to proceed immediately with a view to providing facilities for the older people in the area in their own locality in accordance with the policy of his own Department.

I understand from the North Western Health Board that it intends submitting revised proposals for a Community Nursing Unit at Tubbercurry. When these proposals are received they will be fully considered in the context of the capital programme and the current difficult budgetary situation.
