The position of national schools where staffing may be affected under the new schedule of averages will not be determined until the school returns of averages for the quarter ended 31 December 1987 are available in January 1988.
On the question of pupil-teacher ratio, I would refer the Deputy to my reply to Question No. 211 of 3 November 1987. I have no information as to the figures put forward by the INTO regarding the possible loss of posts in County Wexford, nor as to the basis on which such figures are calculated.
