Vol. 376 No. 2

Written Answers. - Laghey (County Donegal) School.

74.

asked the Minister for Education the up-to-date position regarding plans to provide a new primary school in Laghey, County Donegal; the accommodation being provided; the stage the development has reached at present; and when it is intended to advertise for tender.

The proposal accepted by my Department for grant purposes in relation to Laghey national school, County Donegal, was to provide overall, by means of extending and remodelling the existing building, four classrooms and a general purposes area. Tender documentation for the project has been prepared. I do not expect, however, because of the pressure on the capital available to my Department for the national schools building programme, to be able in the current year or in 1988 to authorise the invitation of tenders for the project.
