An allocation of £4 million from the national lottery has been recently announced in respect of the operation by my Department of a scheme of capital grants in support of local initiative for the provision of community recreational facilities. The question of grant allocations from this fund is currently receiving attention in my Department. I am not in a position, at this time, to provide a list of the projects to be grant aided.
An allocation of £300,000 from the national lottery has been announced in respect of the provision of a 400 metre synthetic running track to complement the large sports centre which has been built by Waterford Corporation at Kilbarry, Waterford City.
