It is intended that eligible teachers whose posts are discontinued under the terms of Circular 20/87 will opt for inclusion on a diocesan or other approved panel so that they can be redeployed to fill vacancies where appropriate in other national schools. The number of offers of redundancy/early retirement will equal (but not exceed) the number of teachers remaining on the panel after these vacancies have been filled. However, pending the outcome of an examination by the Primary Quota Review Committee of the cases affected by Circular 20/87 I am not in a position to quantify the number of offers which will be made.
