Vol. 376 No. 5

Written Answers. - Enniskillen Relief Fund.

24.

asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if the Government has made, or plans to make, any financial donation to the Enniskillen relief fund; if so, the amount; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I understand that this fund was set up to provide an opportunity for those wishing to express their sympathy by making private contributions. I believe, therefore, that it is a matter for each individual to decide whether he or she will contribute to the fund. The Government's shock and horror at the Enniskillen outrage and their sympathy for all concerned was, of course, made clear at the time by the Taoiseach. Subsequently, Members had an opportunity in this House to express their revulsion at the bombing and their deep sense of sympathy for the victims and their relatives.
