As the Taoiseach said in the Dáil last week, the Diplock Courts and the Special Courts here were set up many years ago to deal with what was then thought would be a short lived campaign of terrorist violence. That assessment has not proved to be correct.
We would consider, therefore, that a study could be useful. We have had a preliminary exchange of views with the British side and will be considering the matter with a view to further discussions with them.
