Vol. 376 No. 5

Written Answers. - Prison Officer Transfer.

109.

asked the Minister for Justice whether it is intended that a person (details supplied) who is a prison officer is to be transferred back to St. Patrick's Institution, Dublin 7; the circumstances surrounding the transfer; whether the officer is considered suitable for the transfer; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

It would be inappropriate for me to disclose details of the kind referred to in the Deputy's question. I can, however, assure the Deputy that transfers of prison staff are effected in the interests of the prison service.
