asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a farm improvement grant has not yet been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Sligo despite the fact that he has fulfilled all the conditions and the work has been officially approved; and when it is proposed to pay the grant.

The grant will be paid as soon as practicable along with other grants certified about the same time. Due to budgetary constraints there are delays in making grant payments.

A claim under the farm improvement programme for payment of a grant of £3,351 has been received and will be paid as soon as practicable. All claims under the programme are dealt with strictly in order of receipt. Due to existing budgetary constraints there is some delay in making grant payments.

A claim under the farm improvement programme for payment of a land drainage grant has been received and will be paid as soon as practicable. All claims under the programme are dealt with strictly in order of receipt. Due to existing budgetary constraints there is some delay in making grant payments.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when an agricultural installation grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford; and if he will expedite the matter.

The processing of the application in this case has been finalised and the applicant has been deemed eligible to participate in the scheme. Payment of the premium will be made as soon as budgetary constraints permit and I will inform the Deputy at the appropriate time.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if his Department will now pay arrears of headage grants due to a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim.

The 1987 application of the person named is at present being considered in conjunction with another application by his spouse. However, he cannot be paid grants under earlier headage schemes as he was in breach of the animal health regulations in 1979 and 1980 and did not present any animals for inspection in the years 1981 to 1985.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when the balance of 1986 headage and suckler grants will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim.

The person named has been paid all 1986 cattle and equines headage and suckler cow schemes grants due to him. He did not apply under the 1986 calf premium scheme.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a farm modernisation grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Clare.

A claim under the farm improvement programme for payment of a grant of £15,237 has been received and will be paid as soon as practicable. All claims under the programme are dealt with strictly in order of receipt. Due to existing budgetary constraints there is some delay in making grant payments.
