Vol. 377 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grants Payments.

90.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange to have a new house grant paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny where the work has been inspected and passed for some time.

andMr. Nealon asked the Minister for the Environment if his Department pay grants to members of the public, if so, the amount of each such grant approved for payment, but unpaid as of 31 December 1987; and the equivalent figure for 31 December 1986.

My Department pays the following grants to members of the public — new house grants, mortgage interest subsidies, house improvement grants and £5,000 grants to local authority tenants, etc., who vacate their dwellings on the purchase of private dwelling.

Those grants which actually came in course of payment during the year were paid by my Department by 31 December of both years.
