asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange to have finance made available to Kilkenny County Council for the implementation of an augmentation water scheme for Thomastown, County Kilkenny; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Contract documents for the Thomastown Water Supply scheme are under examination in my Department. The question of providing finance for the scheme will not arise until this examination has been completed and the council provide the necessary certificate confirming that all the necessary preliminary arrangements are in order.
